The Cemetery Special Care Fund enables the four cemeteries of the Diocese of Madison to provide special services that are above and beyond the budget. Among these are:
Burying infants, the indigent, and the forgotten.
Maintaining those (usually very old) graves sold without perpetual care funding.
Protecting trees from invasive insects and diseases.
Unforseen expenses related to equipment and buildings.
Special landscaping projects.
Other projects as determined by the diocese.
The Cemetery Special Care Fund is an operating fund, not an endowment, and is one way of participating in the corporal work of mercy, burying the dead.
