Dr. Joy serves as Senior Theologian to the Bishop and Coordinator of Marriage and Family Ministries for the Diocese of Madison. Before coming to Madison, he taught ethics at La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana, where he was appointed chair of theology and philosophy in 2016. He holds degrees in theology from Ave Maria College in Michigan (B.Phil.), the International Theological Institute in Austria (M.Theol, S.T.L.), and the University of Fribourg in Switzerland (S.T.D.). He is the co-founder and president of the
Albertus Magnus Center for Scholastic Studies, the managing editor for
The Aquinas Institute for the Study of Sacred Doctrine, and a fellow of the
Dialogos Institute. His publications have appeared in
Nova et Vetera,
Antiphon,
New Blackfriars, and
Seminary Journal; and he is the author of
