In general, parish facility assessments fall into one of two categories:
1) A condition assessment, which offers an evaluation of maintenance needs, timing, and costs so that you can plan for the future;
2) A value assessment, which offers an evaluation of your facility's value in preparation for a sale.
The Diocese of Madison has compiled a list of vetted, trusted contractors that offer these two types of assessments. These lists are not complete; more will be added. See the drop-downs below, and contact us with any questions.
Some companies offer facility inspection services only, helping you understand the maintenance needs, timing, and costs so that you can plan appropriately. This type of company has a less interested approach than a contractor that also offers inspection services, because they are not looking at potentially profitable projects. Some of these companies are listed below.
Contractors with expertise in maintaining buildings can offer you a helpful service by inspecting your property and helping you understand the maintenance needs, timing, and costs so that you can plan appropriately. Often, these contractors will charge a nominal amount for their services, with the hope that the parish will choose them to perform the maintenance work. If you engage the services of one of these contractors, make sure that they understand that you will seek two or three bids for larger projects, and are not committing to use them. Review the agreement before signing to make sure you are not committing to use them to perform maintenance work.
