Our Loving Mother's message to her priests

"Please tell my priests: I am your Loving Mother. Come to me. I will hold you. I love you and I will draw you closer to my Son.
"You are wounded, tired, hurt. Come. Know that my Son and I do not abandon you. Know that you are loved. Many of you are weak in faith. Ask for the grace to believe, to trust and to love more.
"As your Loving Mother, I desire to help you. Please, let me. My Son has called you and He continues to call you. Walk with Him and He will give you all that you need.
"My priests, you are dear to my heart. Help my Son by bringing those souls entrusted to you to Him.
"The Holy Mass is your special gift. Be cleansed in the Holy Sacrifice. Let my Son's Life strengthen and renew you as you strengthen and renew others in my Son.
"On this day, I give you a special grace for renewal of your priesthood."

Mission Statement for the Retired Priest Ministry

The Mission of the Retired Priest Ministry is to recognize the blessings God has bestowed on the Diocese of Madison through His Holy Priesthood. We support our retired priest's desire to live independently and with dignity throughout the remainder of their days. As faithful Catholics, we are honored to give back to those men who have worked diligently throughout their lives for the care and salvation of our souls.

Daily Prayer For Priests

O loving Mother Mary, Mother of Priests, take to your heart your sons who are close to you because of their priestly ordination and because of the power which they have received to carry on the work of Christ in a world which needs them so much. Be their comfort, be their joy, be their strength, and especially help them to live and to defend the ideals of consecrated celibacy.

Mary, Queen of Priests, pray for them. Help them to faithfully love and serve Jesus. Help them lead many souls to Jesus in the Eucharist!

Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

The Retired Priest Ministry

The Ministry for Retired Priests is a new ministry to care for our much loved and appreciated retired priest community. Our philosophy can be summed up in these two sentences.
"As Catholics we are blessed with the gift of the priesthood. After a lifetime of devotion, sacrifice and service we must secure their well-being."
Our purpose is to support our retired priests living alone, to help them maintain their independent living, and with God's grace, make their everyday life challenges easier, and their yoke lighter.

Our services include but are not limited to providing them with and assisting them with:

Companionship
Visitation (especially for those in Skilled Nursing Facilities)
Walks
Reading
Providing transportation to
       doctor/dentist appointments
       stores
       bank
Running errands for them, such as the pharmacy, grocery store, and mall.
Computer help.
Assisting/participating in their individual hobbies/interest such as gardening & music.

We are committed to our retired priests and thus our ministry. We feel that our Blessed Mother's presence has been with us from the beginning as we formed and planned this ministry. We pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit and to continue under Mary's watchful eye as we care for her beloved priest sons.

Dear Lord,

We pray that the Blessed Mother wrap her mantle around your priests and through her intercession strengthen them for their ministry. We pray that Mary will guide your priests to follow her own words, "Do whatever He tells you" (Jn2:5). May your priests have the heart of St. Joseph, Mary's most chaste spouse. May the Blessed Mother's own pierced heart inspire them to embrace all who suffer at the foot of the cross. May your priests be holy, filled with the fire of your love seeking nothing but your greater glory and the salvation of souls. Amen
